West Point is in northwestern Cullman County and had 584 residents in the 2020 census. Settlers came in the late 1870s, and the community took the name West Point around 1910.[1]
Early businesses included a sawmill, a grist mill and a cotton gin. The town incorporated on October 15, 1977.[1]
