A small town on Brindley Mountain
With 67 residents counted in 2020, Union Grove is a very small Marshall County town of about 0.57 square miles. It stands at 1,027 feet on Brindley Mountain, near the southwestern edge of the Appalachian Plateau.[1]
Local tradition says the town took its name when Union troops camped there for a time during the Civil War, after passing through Parches Cove. Children attend Marshall County Schools campuses such as Brindlee Mountain Primary, Elementary, Middle and High School.[1]
