Ragland is a St. Clair County town southeast of Ashville.  Its population was 1,693 in the 2020 census, a slight rise from 1,639 in 2010, and it incorporated in 1899.[1]

The town is part of the Birmingham, Hoover and Cullman combined statistical area and covers about 16.9 square miles.[1]
