The covered bridge county seat
Oneonta is the seat of Blount County and had 6,938 residents in 2020. It lies at about 860 feet in Murphree Valley, between Red Mountain and Sand Mountain.[1]
U.S. Route 231 passes through the center of the city. The Easley Covered Bridge, a 95-foot town lattice truss built in 1927 and owned by the county, is the focus of the annual Covered Bridge Festival.[1]
