Hytop is a Jackson County town with 441 residents at the 2020 census. It incorporated on May 17, 1991, and sits on top of the Cumberland Plateau, just south of the Alabama and Tennessee state line.[1]
Just west of town is a narrow valley cut by Hurricane Creek, a tributary of the Paint Rock River.[1]
