Holly Pond is in eastern Cullman County, at the meeting of U.S. Route 278 and State Route 91, about 870 feet above sea level. Its population was 851 in the 2020 census.[1]
Two natural ponds surrounded by holly trees gave the town its name. Settlers came in the 1840s, a post office was operating by 1888, and incorporation followed in 1906.[1]
