From Cowhead to Eva
Eva is a town in southeastern Morgan County, bordering Cullman County, at 1,066 feet near the Tennessee Valley Divide. Its population rose from 519 in 2010 to 589 in 2020.[1]
People first settled the area around 1820 and called it Cowhead. In October 1883 it was renamed Eva, after a newborn baby girl, and it became an incorporated town in 1963.[1]
