A Marshall County town on Sand Mountain

Douglas lies in the southern part of Marshall County, where State Routes 75 and 168 cross.  It rests on Sand Mountain at about 940 feet and became an incorporated town in 1978.[1]

Albertville is about 9 miles to the northeast and Boaz about 11 miles to the east.  The town's schooling goes back to 1898, when its first school was built, and Douglas Academy followed in 1909.[1]
