Ardmore, Alabama, is the northernmost settlement in the state, and the 2020 census counted 1,321 residents. It lies in northeastern Limestone County next to its sister city, Ardmore, Tennessee.[1]
The place began as Austin, named for Alex Austin, who picked the site for a Louisville and Nashville Railroad station. The railroad later renamed it for Ardmore, Pennsylvania, and the town incorporated in 1922.[1]
